Powered Access Operator Training

Powered Access Operator Training – A wide variety of IPAF (International Powered Access Federation) approved training courses are available to allow the operation or management of various types of Powered Access or Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWP).

Upon completion of a training course at one of our IPAF Approved Training Centres, each successful candidate will have acquired the essential skills and knowledge required to safely operate or oversee the selected type of MEWP in the workplace, candidates will also receive a PAL card or Powered Access Licence.

IPAF Operator Course: 3A / 3B

This course aims to instruct an operator to prepare and safely operate various types of Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs) including scissor lifts, vertical personnel lifts and booms on wheels.

IPAF Operator Course: 1B / 3A / 3B

This IPAF operator course delegates the essential knowledge required to safely operate various types of MEWPs under three IPAF categories including (3A) Mobile Vertical, (3B) Mobile Boom and (1B) Static Boom Platforms.

IPAF Operator Course: 3A/3B

This IPAF operator course delivers the essential knowledge required to operate various types of booms under two IPAF categories (1B) Static Boom and (3B) Mobile Boom. Delegates will be able to prepare, carry out pre-use inspection checks and safely operate these machines in the workplace.

IPAF Operator Course: 3A

This IPAF operator course aims to instruct an operator to prepare and safely operate various types of Mobile Elevated Work Platforms (MEWPS) to include scissor lifts and vertical personnel lifts.

IPAF Operator Course: 1B

This IPAF operator course delivers both theory and practical instruction on how to safely operate, select and carry out pre-use inspection of a range of Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs) in the workplace including tow-behind, truck-mounted, van mounted and spider/tracked booms.

IPAF PAV Course

This IPAF course provides training on how to prepare and safely operate various types of Push Around Vertical (PAV) Lifts.

IPAF Harness Awareness & Harness User Course

This course provides the essential knowledge to enable a successful candidate to select, monitor, manage and plan the correct use of Harnesses and Lanyards for use in a MEWP and is a prerequisite for the IPAF Harness Inspector training course.

IPAF Harness Inspector Course

This course is essential to anyone who will personally conduct statutory inspections on behalf of any organisation. This course provides the essential knowledge and practical application for the statutory inspection of Harness, Lanyards and associated PFPE equipment for use in a MEWP

IPAF MEWPs for Managers Course

This course aims to instruct supervisors/managers in the requirements to select, use and manage various types of Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPS) under their control.

IPAF Operator Course: 3B

This course aims to instruct an operator to prepare and safely operate various types of Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPS) including boom lifts on wheels.

IPAF Load Course

For the LOAD practical training module and assessment, candidates will learn to load, secure, and unload a minimum of one plant machine, with a winch being optional.

IPAF Load+ Course

This course covers loading vehicle/trailer over 7.5tons. For the LOAD+ practical module and assessment, candidates will learn to load and unload a minimum of two plant machines.

IPAF PAL+ Course

PAL+ is an additional one day of category specific training for using MEWPs in higher risk applications or challenging environments. PAL+ training is open to operators who hold an existing PAL Card qualification in a relevant category such as Mobile Vertical (3A), Mobile Boom (3B) or Static Boom (1B).

IPAF e-Learning Course

IPAF’s enhanced e-Learning module is part of its full training programme for mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs). The eLearning module delivers flexibility and interactive tools, with the same emphasis on practical training. Trainees complete the theory part anytime and at their own pace prior to completing a supervised theory test at KDM Hire.

IPAF Site Assessment (For MEWP Selection)

The course guides candidates through the process of determining the optimum MEWP for a given task. Factors covered include height, reach, up-and-over height, the weight of people, required materials & tools, environment, restrictions, set-up, hazards, permits, accessories, delivery, and completion of documentation to justify the selection.
