Introduction to Construction Safety Month
For many in the construction industry, ensuring the safety of your team can be a significant challenge, especially when faced with tight deadlines, complex site operations, and the high risk of accidents. Construction Safety Month, driven by the Construction Industry Federation (CIF), serves as a vital reminder of the importance of maintaining strict safety standards on-site to protect workers.
At KDM Hire, we understand these pressures. That’s why we’re proud to be part of Construction Safety Month, offering tailored safety training that addresses the specific risks faced by contractors and site managers. Our training, delivered in partnership with IPAF, is designed to give your team the practical knowledge they need to operate safely and efficiently, reducing the risk of accidents and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
By participating in this campaign, you can take proactive steps toward improving site safety, protecting your workforce, and keeping your projects on track.
Construction Safety Month, IPAF Training
Construction Safety Month is well underway, and at KDM Hire, safety is at the core of everything we do. We’re proud to support our customers, contractors, and the wider construction community during this essential month of awareness and education.
As part of our Construction Safety Campaign, we recently teamed up with the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) to deliver vital safety training focused on powered access operations. Our first session took place at the Alexion Project in Ballycoolin, Dublin, where we hosted almost 400 participants across multiple group sessions throughout the day.
A Focus on Powered Access Safety
With so many critical aspects of safety to address, our training covered a range of essential topics that directly impact the wellbeing of construction workers and site safety.
Safe Use of Mobile Elevated Work Platforms (MEWPs)
Participants learned about the operational risks associated with MEWPs and how to mitigate these through best practices.
MEWPs for Managers Training
Designed specifically for site managers, this course equips leaders with the skills to effectively oversee and ensure the safe use of powered access equipment on-site.
Emergency Lowering Procedures
We demonstrated how to safely and efficiently lower powered access platforms in the event of an emergency, ensuring quick response times and improved safety.
Harness Awareness
The importance of using the right safety harness and ensuring it is properly fitted is vital for anyone working at height. Our session provided practical insights into the correct harness usage.
IPAF Rental+
Attendees gained a deeper understanding of the importance of using IPAF-certified rental companies like KDM Hire to ensure high standards of safety and service.
At KDM Hire, we have years of experience delivering accredited training programs that help construction teams operate safely and efficiently. As an IPAF-certified company, we uphold the highest standards in powered access training, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
